Birth is Movement

A prenatal workshop in Luxembourg to help you (and your partner, if they wish to attend as well) navigate and enjoy your labor and birth.

Birth is Movement: navigate & enjoy your labor and birth

This is a prenatal workshop thought to give you tools to be able to live fully that unique moment. We will learn how to facilitate birth’s natural development, as well as confort techniques and the importance of movement. We will get moving, learn to recognize our pelvis and experiment with different props and positions.

This workshop is a mixture of both theory and practice. The theory will be covered partially in recorded videos that will be send to the participants upon registration, and partially during the in-person workshop. The practical part will focus on experimenting with an array of tools to help cope with pain and discomfort though motion, changing positions, and the use of elements like birth balls, suspensions, rebozos, partners hands, etc. In particular, we will learn to recognize our pelvis and understand how we can modify its shape through motion and, with that knowledge, try out different positions that can be used during labor and birth.

During this workshop we will review our conceptions surrounding natural childbirth, what we mean by ‘protect the bubble’ and why it is important, the role of pain and coping techniques, we will explore the female pelvis and its possibilities, the role of movement in labor and birth plus specific positions, discuss results of up-to-date research and self-advocacy, and get tips and insights to help you write your birth plan.

Here you can find some feedback by families who participated in the workshop:

My partner and I absolutely enjoyed the session and took home a lot of valuable lessons. Belén was generous in sharing a wide range of information that a soon-to-be mom needs to know. Joining the workshop was definitely one of my pregnancy highlights and I highly recommend it!

It is very useful, now I feel calm that we are on the same page with my husband and he knows what to do

It was a very informative and useful workshop, information was straight to the point – concise and clear, all questions have been answered and I have asked a lot of questions:), friendly environment, new good ideas for the birth plan, we practiced the positions that can be used during labour. It is a great course, I totally recommend to participate!

I attended Belén’s workshop and highly recommend both her and her courses. Her passion for motherhood and related topics shines through in her informative and engaging sessions. She creates a welcoming learning environment and encourages open discussions, making it easy to ask any questions.

Informative and empowering workshop, especially for first time parents!

My partner and I really enjoyed the course (even though it is not our first birth!) Even if you already know about birth and giving birth in Luxembourg, it’s very useful to have an in-person experience to refresh your memory and build up your confidence so you know more how to advocate for yourself and feel prepared for the birth you want.

Indispensable for anyone expecting a baby or whose partner is. Regardless of what type of birth you may have this workshop will help you feel prepared and more in control, aware of options and overall ready! Definitely a must, would really recommend doing this with your partner.

If the upcoming group dates do not work for you, I also offer private and semi-private workshops at Bettembourg, LU or online. To register, head down to the shop section!
