Another oldie but goodie 🤩 the kangaroo front c Another oldie but goodie 🤩 the kangaroo front carry with a short @firespiral Dryad Nocturne woven wrap! A surprisingly supportive and very snuggly carry that is perfect for newborns but also works very well for bigger babies! Here's a few technique tips for optimal confort and support: 🌟 Pay attention to the cupped shoulders, how you make that twist is important! Make sure that the top rail stays inside, so that baby's neck is well supported 🌟 Notice how I hold the tails for the strand-by-strand tightening? Think of a waiter on a fancy restaurant holding a napkin 😜 place it on your forearm and tighten with your palm facing up! Will I still be wrapping my youngest in 2026? 🤔 Will I still be wrapping my youngest in 2026? 🤔 Who knows, but I plan to keep stuffing a wrap in my backpack at every hike, should the occasion present itself 🤭 Over the past 7+ years I went from wrapping several times a day to less than once a month (if you don't count demonstration on workshops and privates, of course 🤭). But every time I get the chance, I take it. Who knows when it'll be the last 🥹 I'm lucky he's not very heavy for an almost 5yo and I can still carry him with ease. As a finishing thought about bonds and attachment As a finishing thought about bonds and attachment (if you don't know what i'm taking about, go to my previous post): both breastfeeding and babywearing are two amazing ways to promote them. Are they "natural"? yes, on a sense, they are. As a species we are programmed to nurse and carry our children. But does it mean that they *come* naturally to everyone, that are automatic and easy? The answer is no. Not in this society where we are disconnected from our roots, where we have no support. So if you struggle with breasfeeding, and you want to breasfeed, get help. If you struggle with babywearing, and you want to carry your kid, get help. You won't regret it! And as a side note, remember that is never too late to work in your bond, they are never too old to be carried and snuggled and nursed as long as you both want to. It's your decision. One thing I love about Luxembourg is how many opti One thing I love about Luxembourg is how many options there are for hikes and walks. We did one a little different this weekend: instead of going to the forest, we took a path from Belval to Esch that ran mostly along the railroads. Someone in my back was super exciting to be watching trains all along the walk until he fell asleep 😂 It is quite normal that both our kids nap during our weekend walks. I carry the toddler on a wrap and my husband carries the "big" boy on a preschooler SSC (LennyPreschool), normally on the front! we both enjoy the snuggles and also the time to talk and have a coffee while we walk and the kids nap 💕 it's one of our little family routines and even though of course they do get heavy and it is physically tiring, we know some day soon they won't need to be carried anymore, so we enjoy it while it lasts 💜 #Mom_lu #babywearing #babywearingconsultant #monitricedeportage #portage #portagephysio #ispyfispi #porteo #fular #fulartejido #wovenwrap #toddlerwearing #preschoolwearing #echarpedeportage #luxembourg #hiking #momswhohike
Back carrying is awesome and practical, but nothin Back carrying is awesome and practical, but nothing beats some front snuggles 🥰 I front carry my second much more than I did my first.
